Most Indian tap water carries 300-600 ppm TDS, and borewell water often runs far higher. Every time water dries on a tap, spout or basin, it leaves calcium and magnesium behind. Layer after layer, that becomes the white crust at the tap base, cloudy chrome and a ring around the drain. Soap mixes with the same minerals and forms soap scum. Regular cleaners wipe the dirt but leave the mineral layer, which is why the marks come back in days.
Limescale is mineral, not dirt. Detergent-only cleaners slide over it. TapStrike Intense uses a sulfamic-led acid blend that dissolves the mineral layer in 30-60 seconds of contact, plus surfactants to cut soap film in the same pass. HEDP keeps dissolved minerals in solution so they wipe off instead of re-spotting.
Chrome is a thin plating, so contact time matters. For regular cleaning, spray, wait 30-60 seconds and wipe. For heavy crust, scrub gently and leave 1-3 minutes at most, then rinse with water. Do not leave it to dry on the tap. BTA in the formula protects chrome and steel during that window. Avoid metal scrubbers and abrasive powders, which scratch plating faster than any descaler.
Safe for: steel, chrome, ceramic, glass, glazed and vitrified tiles, plastic, acrylic and enamel. Test first: unlacquered brass and copper. Not for: marble, granite and natural stone (acid etches them), hot surfaces, and wooden fittings. For scale inside appliances, showerheads or geysers, use DescaleX or WashDX instead.
Dull, cloudy patches and white drip lines on glazed bathroom tiles are the same mineral layer you see on taps, usually mixed with soap film. Mopping or a detergent cleaner removes the grime on top but not the scale, so tiles look dirty again within days. Spray one section, wait 30-60 seconds, scrub, and rinse before moving on. Rinse grout lines well, and keep it off marble, granite and unglazed tiles.
At TDS above 400, a quick weekly spray keeps taps and basins from building the thick white crust. If marks come back within a few days, your water is very hard, so check your TDS and shorten the routine. Wiping taps dry after use slows the build-up a lot.
