400 ppm
Hard-water maintenance is now practical, not optional.
Monthly to quarterly depending on appliance.
TDS LEVEL HARD-WATER HUB
TDS is not only a drinking-water number. For hard-water maintenance, 400, 600, and 800 ppm are practical thresholds that change how quickly kettles, washing machines, geysers, taps, and shower glass collect scale.

RECOMMENDED PRODUCT
The Starter Combo fits TDS-led homes because one water problem usually affects kettles, washing machines, coffee machines, dishwashers, showerheads, and geysers differently.
DIRECT ANSWER
At 400 ppm TDS, plan regular maintenance. At 600 ppm, hard-water symptoms become frequent and appliance descaling should not be delayed. At 800 ppm and above, scale is aggressive enough that monthly or even bi-weekly routines may be needed for high-use appliances.
TDS ROUTINE
400 ppm
Hard-water maintenance is now practical, not optional.
Monthly to quarterly depending on appliance.
600 ppm
Scale forms fast across hot-water appliances.
Monthly for kettles and washers; 3-4 months for geysers.
800 ppm
Very aggressive scale environment.
Frequent scheduled descaling and retesting.
900+ ppm
Extreme local water behavior.
Maintenance plus source investigation.
At around 400 ppm, hard-water symptoms are usually visible but manageable. Kettles scale faster, chrome marks appear, and washing-machine maintenance should be planned.
Around 600 ppm, scale is no longer occasional. Hot-water appliances and glass surfaces show recurring deposits even after normal cleaning.
At 800 ppm and above, the household needs a strict maintenance rhythm and probably should retest source water, especially if borewell or tanker water is involved.

COMMON QUESTIONS
For household maintenance, yes. Around 400 ppm, many Indian homes see kettle scale, tap marks, shower spotting, and appliance buildup.
It is high enough to cause frequent scale in hot-water appliances. It does not mean every appliance will fail immediately, but skipped maintenance becomes costly.
Use appliance-specific products: DescaleX Bio for kettles, DescaleX for coffee machines, dishwashers, and showerheads, and WashDX for washing machines, geysers, tanks, and rods.
