DescaleX Liquid Coffee Machine Descaler

1. Empty water tank of your coffee machine.
2. Pour full contents of the 150ml bottle into the empty tank.
3. Top up tank with clean water to full capacity (usually 1L).
4. Run the descale/cleaning cycle per your machine's manual.
5. After cycle, refill tank with clean water and run 2 full rinse cycles.
6. Discard rinse water. Machine is ready to use.

Coffee machines have tight internal water routes - boiler, brew unit, group head, and steam pipes. Every brew cycle pushes water through the same narrow paths, and every gram of dissolved mineral in that water gets a chance to stick to hot metal. Within a few months of Indian hard water use, those pipes start narrowing. Flow slows, brew temperature drops, and coffee starts tasting flat or bitter. A dedicated descaler with the right acid blend and low pH clears those internal deposits fast without corroding the metal.

Glycolic acid is a small molecule that works into layered scale. Lactic acid stays active in cold water and keeps dissolved calcium in solution. Citric acid adds descaling strength. Sodium lactate buffers the blend so the working solution in the tank sits around pH 1.6-1.8, and sodium gluconate keeps dissolved minerals suspended so they rinse out. The result is a bio-acid liquid with zero EDTA, phosphates, or sulfates, built for one clean pour-and-run cycle.

Safe: stainless-steel boilers, PTFE-coated internals, brass with short contact time (under 30 minutes), silicone seals, glass carafes. Caution: aluminium boilers (check machine manual), old cracked seals. Do not use on: machines with visible internal aluminium or chrome-plated fittings, milk system components (use a dedicated milk cleaner), prosumer machines without checking the manual, or any surface not designed to see acidic solutions.

India's tap water TDS averages 300-600 ppm in most cities and can exceed 1500 in some regions. At those levels, a coffee machine used daily needs descaling every 2-3 months. Signs you're overdue: slower brew, weaker crema, dropping temperature, or a metallic aftertaste in your coffee. If you can't remember the last descale, it's time.
